ADDITIVE CATCHMENTS ANNOUNCES LAUNCH, BREAKTHROUGH IN ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING

London, UK – 20th June 2023  Additive.earth is thrilled to announce the launch of its second venture, Additive Catchments. In a significant move towards sustainable decision-making, the company has established partnerships with Atkins, Galliford Try and  Siemens, in delivering its ground-breaking solution.

Additive Catchments is focused on helping society make more informed and sustainable decisions about our environment. Its approach to catchment monitoring involves comprehensive data collection and analysis from a water catchment area, including factors like water quality, quantity, pollution levels, and runoff. This crucial data powers an AI-enabled digital twin, providing a robust basis for sustainable management decisions, pollution mitigation, enhanced risk management, and optimised investment outcomes.

As a response to the pressing need for water companies to comply with the monitoring requirements set forth by the Environment Act 2021, which stipulates the implementation of up and downstream monitoring of storm overflows by 2027, Additive Catchments offers an innovative solution. Traditional methods have proven costly and present substantial operational hurdles. The current system also necessitates land purchase and planning for installation, often leading to a two-year lead time for deployment. Additive Catchments is stepping up to tackle these challenges, aiming to revolutionise the field of environmental monitoring.

With UK regulatory changes pushing water companies to invest £5bn+, and the nature-based solutions market attracting £100bn in capital, there’s an urgent need for better and more affordable monitoring solutions. Additive Catchments is stepping in to fill this gap, making effective environmental monitoring within reach for more companies, which benefits consumers.

Other esteemed partners have expressed their excitement at being part of this pivotal venture:

Tim Srock, CEO of Mendix – A Siemens Business, added, “Additive Catchments is set to transform the environmental monitoring landscape. Developed on the Mendix low-code platform, their technology paves the way for many applications serving diverse sectors and use cases worldwide – ranging from water management and nature-based solutions to insurance. This approach optimises value and impact, ultimately promoting a sustainable future for all. We take pride in supporting and partnering with Additive Catchments on this essential journey.”

Steve Slessor, Managing Director of Galliford Try’s Environment Business, shared similar sentiments: “Galliford Try is thrilled to partner with Additive Catchments to deploy their ground-breaking solution. We believe the comprehensive data generated holds immense potential for transforming water companies’ management of their assets.”
